As many of you know I have been living in the Arabian Gulf for many years and did not celebrate Christmas over there. So since now I have arrived to Australian shores I will be having my first Christmas in a while- and not only that, a Fruitarian Christmas! Whilst all around me will be feasting on the typical standard Christmas fare, I will be making a lot of vegan dishes for those who are tempted (I actually do have a fellow vegan in the family who will be there), and am thrilled that a fellow vegan will be there on the day with me. Despite me making all these vegan dishes, I on the other hand, will be sticking purely to a fruity fare. I will feast only on fruits. I made the full transition a few weeks ago of eating just fruits and water. No teas, sugars, dehydrated, heavy (fat) fruits, or dried fruits. And the difference has truly been stunning.
Even though I am still carrying quite a bit of weight, I feel incredible. My exercise is breezy. Before it was much more of a struggle. Its just so fluid and easy. I did a nice 7km walk this morning and I would usually experience slight pain in the side of my ribs after about 30 mins but that has diminished since having no nuts seeds, dehydrated fruits. Its amazing. And even though I sweat, there is no body odour- which is amazing- deodorant, even the healthy ones, is one less thing I can give up.
I mention in my latest vid on youtube how a feeling of distinct clarity has come over me and I have had no temptation whatsoever in the last few weeks to go back to eating more of the heavier foods like avocados- which I love. Perhaps every now and then later on I will have them back in my diet, but as for now, not having them has made a big difference in my energy levels. One of my favorite meals on the fruitarian diet is avocado and sweet tomatoes but even just having tomatoes on their own (without salt) is delicious to me now.
I struggled with the salt habit in the beginning but am pleased to say it is gone! That I find unbelievable because I really never thought I could give up salt so quickly but I have. Ive also given up coffee- which was months ago now. That was very easy to give up because Id only have one a day, which was weak anyway.
So wherever you are, I wish you a festive and beautiful Christmas day, and eat lots of fruity goodness! This is a great time of year for delicious stone fruits, cherries, mango and bananas! Munch Up! <3
